Can Synthetic Biology Offer New Possibilities for Alzheimer's Disease?

Alzheimer's disease affects not only patients but also their families and caregivers. I became interested in how synthetic biology might contribute to new approaches to neurological diseases.

As a member of iGEM Team BSDFZ-CHINA, I participated in NeuroBloom, a project exploring a proposed capsule-based approach involving sakuranetin and PLA2.

The project aimed to investigate the potential for neural protection and reducing amyloid-beta burden in early-stage Alzheimer's disease.

What interested me most was the opportunity to connect biological research with a real healthcare challenge and consider how scientific ideas might eventually contribute to people's lives.
