Connecting Generations Through Nature and Creativity

Volunteering at Shanghai Kangershou Fuen Nursing Home gave me the opportunity to connect with elderly residents through activities inspired by nature and art. I helped organize birdwatching and creative activities designed to encourage participation, attention, and cognitive engagement.

Through these experiences, I began to appreciate how simple shared activities can create opportunities for communication and connection. Art provided a way for residents to express themselves, while nature-related activities offered moments of curiosity and enjoyment. This experience encouraged me to become more patient and attentive to the needs of others. It also reminded me that meaningful contributions do not always require complicated solutions; sometimes, spending time with someone and sharing an experience can make a difference.
